A unified workforce onboarding and compliance portal for a UK contract staffing agency.
Nevara Services is a unified digital platform designed to manage and deploy a nationwide contract workforce across the security and hospitality sectors. Built for internal operations teams and contract staff, the portal streamlines the recruitment, vetting, and onboarding of personnel for venues and events across the United Kingdom. By automating compliance verification, the system ensures all deployed workers possess valid credentials, training, and legal work status.
Managing recruitment and compliance for a large contract workforce across two separate divisions created immense administrative overhead and legal risk. The platform had to handle sensitive personal data and verify a range of official documents, including Right-to-Work credentials, DBS certificates, and SIA licences. Technically, this required designing a secure, multi-stage application portal capable of processing high-volume file uploads and executing automated checks whilst maintaining strict role-based access control.
MernLabs developed a unified web application using Next.js to deliver a seamless public interface and a secure internal portal within a single, high-performance architecture. We implemented a flexible MongoDB database with Mongoose schemas to store applicant profiles and compliance documents, allowing the platform to scale easily as the workforce grows. A structured four-stage onboarding flow was built with interactive step indicators and drag-and-drop document upload areas to maximise completion rates amongst applicants. Finally, we secured the platform using JWT authentication middleware to enforce strict role-based access for contractors and operations admins, coupled with automated email notifications to keep candidates informed.
